About Me

Hi, I’m Amanda. I offer regular classes in singing, contemporary dance and yoga. My classes are for people who want to get to know themselves, their voice and their body better.

I will support you to explore your creativity, develop healthy habits and regulate your nervous system.

My speciality is connecting body, voice and emotions through creativity and awareness work. In my classes, I emphasise a holistic learning process and support your personal development as well as your artistic journey.

My approach is not about perfecting technique, but about learning to connect freely and intuitively with yourself in order to develop a healthy and powerful voice and body language.

Why creating a healthy learning environment is important to me

During my education, I have experienced many different teaching styles. Those include a Montessori primary education and four years in a Krishnamurti School in England (Brockwood Park School) as well as my vocational education mentioned above. Most of these schools where highly focused on the student’s wellbeing and unique approach to learning. Overall I felt well supported and appreciated in the development of my skills.

However, coming from such a protected learning environment, my experience in some of the more conventional institutions was very challenging. I experienced high pressure to perform well, favouritism, the need to fit into a certain model of an ideal student and abusive language patterns that I personally percieved to be very harmful.

While learning how to deal with these harsher learning conditions through working on myself and my behavioural patterns, I formed the wish to teach about the body and the voice in a healthy and constructive manner. The way I do this is by listening to you and your individual needs as much as I can. I use a lot of tools that I have learned during my education as a dancer, as a musician and as a holistic vocal coach/voice therapist, but I also work with my intuition to find out what will support you most in your learning.

Some more facts about me:

  • I grew up in the German alps and feel at home whenever I am in nature, especially in the mountains.
  • I love wild camping.
  • I passionately dislike social media and get addicted very easily.
  • I would describe myself as quite a rational person, but I love mysterious phenomena and situations that cannot be explained logically.
  • Family is very important to me.
  • I am intrigued by minimalism and I dream of living in an off-grid tiny house or yurt one day.
